TFF (The First Friday)

The first week in Mumbai passed so fast. Our client MMC (Mumbai Mobile Creches) is located nearby the gateway of India, it is a little far away from our hotel. We took 45 hour from our hotel to our client office and 1 hour from client office to hotel by taxi. Recently we found a fix taxi driver to pick up us. I still remembered we met a bad driver who want to cheat us with different taxi pay rate on Tuesday. Luckily Shruti just accompany with us and told us how to handle this case. Sometimes it happened in Shanghai as well, even you are local passenger.

The office of our client is in an old building, it is not big for about 20 staff, but you can see the sea and hear the birdsong from balcony. There is no air condition, so it is a little hot afternoon.

We have met lots stakeholders in this week. We had meeting with CEO of MMC to discuss her expectation about our program. She is wonderful talking person, the staff believe she can convince the world. All staff are pretty emotional because they believe and love what they are doing.

We visited teachers and children in one daily care center at construction side. The environment of construction side is really tough to live for workers. But MMC really provide a safety place for all children from 0 to 14 years old. They take care of the nutrition and education of children as well. The teachers really did amazing job to take care of all children, to prepare the food, to teach them, to make toys etc. I can't image how the way those children will live without MMC daily center. I hope we can simply the process to reduce the burden on teachers.

We talked to program coordinator and research officer to figure out what are their current solution and process. They had trying to find the way to improve their process, sometimes what they did is beyond what I expected. But they still haven't got expected result. I think the reason is the structure of data module is not correct, that will be the key to improve their process, also that is what we are focus on.

We will enjoy our time to find solution to help so much lovely children and amazing teachers.

SAP SoSa Mumbai: The first kickoff meeting with all clients

I have been Mumbai three days for SAP social sabbatical program. Today is the first day we met our client MMC which is the local non-profit organization focus on children daily care. We did big kick off meeting for all projects.

We have a great discussion with our client about what's the paint point of their organization currently,  what they have done to improve their process, what they expected we can help and so on to clarify the scope of our work. We raised lots of questions and got lots of information from our client side. We always need to open our mind to think about more. The interesting thing is that because team member has different role in job and has different culture, we have different ideas from each prospective. It sometimes just like pieces of puzzle, when we put them together, it will be amazing.

This is the start point of our project. I've released the importance of communication, based on the communication with our client, we got more clear idea about what they want. Also we can improve the relationship between our team and our client through communication.

One more thing I have learnt today is that how popular Whatsapp is in other countries. It is completely international chat tool. But I will say from the user experience prospective, it is not so good as Wechat. Anyway, it is an internal team. We need some international tools for internal communication.
